Aaron Christiansen, MS, PT,
Director
Aaron is a native of
Early, Iowa. He received his B.S. from Iowa State University and then attended
Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center where he received his M.S. in
Physical Therapy. Aaron joined Ankeny Physical and Sports Therapy in 1998. He
has professional interests in manual therapy, sports medicine, vestibular
rehabilitation and industrial rehabilitation.
Aaron routinely consults with local industries and area sports teams providing
injury screens and performance enhancement programs. He serves as an adjunct
instructor for Des Moines University Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program and
is a certified examiner with Isernhagen Work Systems for industrial
rehabilitation services. Aaron has published research in the Journal of
Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy. He is a member of the American Physical
Therapy Association and the Iowa Physical Therapy Association. Aaron is an
outdoors enthusiast and enjoys spending time with family, coaching youth sports
in Ankeny, and church activities at St. Paul Lutheran in Ankeny.
Aaron and his wife reside in Ankeny with their three children.

Luke Carlson, MS, PT
Luke is lifelong resident of Ankeny. He
is the son of Lynn and Dr. Rodney R. Carlson. Dr. Carlson was a family
physician in Ankeny since the 1960’s and recently retired from Mercy
Clinics. Luke graduated from The University of Northern Iowa where he played
football and earned his B.S. He attended Des Moines University Osteopathic
Medical Center where he received his M.S. in Physical Therapy. Luke started
Ankeny Physical and Sports Therapy in 1994 and has served Ankeny High School
as the Head Sports Medicine Therapist since opening the practice. Luke’s
professional interests include sports medicine, manual therapy,
wellness/prevention, and general orthopedics.
Luke routinely provides injury screens and performance enhancement programs
to athletes of all ages in his practice. He is currently working on his
Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Des Moines University and is also
authoring a book about wellness utilizing a physical, mental, and spiritual
approach. Luke enjoys working with the high school athletes, vacations with
family, coaching his kids in sports, reading, and activities at Ankeny
United Methodist Church.
Luke and his wife live in Ankeny with their two children.

Staci Porter, MS, PT
Staci is a native of
Humeston, Iowa. She attended the University of Iowa where she received her
B.S. She attended Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center where she
received her M.S. in Physical Therapy. Staci started the Women’s Health
Program at Ankeny Physical and Sports Therapy when she joined the practice
in 2004. Her professional interests include women’s health, sports medicine,
and manual therapy.
Staci is currently working toward her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Des
Moines University. Staci enjoys Hawkeye sporting events, piano, waterskiing,
and spending time with family.
Staci and her husband live in Ankeny with their daughter.

Charlie Flatness, MS, PT
Charlie is a native of
Mason City, Iowa. He attended the University of Northern Iowa where he
competed on the Swimming Team for four years and received his B.S. Charlie
attended Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center where he received
his M.S. in Physical Therapy. He joined Ankeny Physical and Sports Therapy
in 2000. Charlie’s professional interests include general orthopedics,
manual therapy, and sports medicine.
Charlie provides sports medicine services to the Ankeny High School Swim
Team. He is also a certified examiner with Isernhagen Work Systems for
industrial rehabilitation services.
Charlie is currently working toward his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from
Des Moines University. He is active in the Ankeny United Methodist Church
and Ankeny YMCA, serving on the Board of Directors and volunteering for the
YMCA Swim Team. Charlie enjoys competitive swimming, biking, and camping. .
Charlie and his wife live in Ankeny with their three children.

Calvin Runner, PTA
Calvin is a native of Laurel, Iowa. He
attended Indian Hills Community College where he received his PTA degree.
Calvin joined Ankeny Physical and Sports Therapy in 1998. His professional
interests include strength training and conditioning.
Calvin enjoys competitive bodybuilding,
hunting, fishing, and competitive archery. He and his wife Jennifer live in
Marshalltown.
